WHAT TO EXPECT

Sojourners Project: Busing is:

  • An outdoor event.

  • A BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR event (unless you purchased VIP tickets).

  • About 80 minutes long.

  • Intended for audiences of all ages.

  • Created for broad accessibility, with additional accommodations available upon request (see below).

  • This is a rain or shine event (light rain). In the event of cancelation due to weather, we will work with ticket-holders to reschedule for another date.

  • Please come prepared for nature and weather (sunscreen, bug spray, warm layer, rain jacket, etc.; no umbrellas please).

  • Restrooms are available on site, as is shelter in the event of sudden extreme weather.

  • Rescheduling requests are considered on a case-by-case basis up to 48 hours before the show. Please send requests to Katie Weisberger at kday.soleil@gmail.com. Refunds are not available.

  • Warning: Strobe effects are used on stage during event.

    COVID-19 Safety

    As of September 1, 2021, here’s how we are keeping you safe at Sojourners:

  • Sojourners Project: Busing is an outdoor performance in the parking lot of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church.

  • General Admission B.Y.O. Chair seating allows you to set up with distance from other guests.

  • VIP seating is on re-sourced school bus seats. Each seat accommodates two people, and is set up with 6' spacing.

  • We will ask standard exposure questions at check-in.

  • Masks are recommended for all guests and required for unvaccinated guests over 12 years old. Depending on infection rates, masks may be required for attendance.

  • We will require contact information for every guest for exposure tracking.

  • Guests are expected to maintain 6' of distance from people outside their party.

  • All performers and staff are fully vaccinated. They will also do weekly testing and daily symptoms and exposure checks, and will maintain established distances of 6'+ from guests.

Accessibility Protocols & Commitments

Accessibility is a priority for us. We are committed to working with every individual interested in seeing the show to accommodate their participation. This includes but is by no means limited to:

  • Mobility & distance. We are able to bring vehicles within feet of the seating area. Please contact us if you would like this accommodation.

  • Audibility and Translation. Because of the site-specific nature of this performance, we are not offering subtitles. Instead, we are happy to offer the following services upon request (please give at least one week notice), and we are happy to discuss additional accommodation requests:

    • Provision of the full show script (less than 10 pages) as a digital or print document before the show.

    • ASL live translation.

  • Vision. We are able to provide professional audio description upon request (please give at least one week notice). We are happy to discuss additional accommodation requests.

  • Sensory sensitivities. Strobe lighting is used in one scene. Upon request, we can offer a description of when this will happen. The show does not include sudden loud noises, drastic lighting changes, violence, or other common triggers for PTSD, Autism Spectrum, or other sensitivities that we are aware of. Please ask us any questions you would like about specific concerns you may have.
